Personal Financial Officer Loan/Insurance Processor

LECU is seeking full-time a team member in a growing credit union environment. You will work to establish and build relationships with our members by assisting them with the products and services our credit union has to offer. Work hours are Monday through Friday-8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Position Summary

This person serves as a liaison between the member and the lending department of the Credit Union by a variety of support duties related to the lending department within the Credit Union or as directed by the Management. The PFO is also responsible for providing account information, opening new accounts when needed, professionally handling the member’s daily Credit Union needs. PFO provide a variety of transaction requests and answers member questions regarding Credit Union services. PFO perform a variety of account maintenances and actively cross-sells other Credit Union services to benefit both the member and the Credit Union.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Answer telephone for the loan department professionally and courteously. Answer questions, provide information and or route calls to appropriate PFO. Take messages when needed and coordinate follow through.
  2. Ensures accuracy and completeness of all work of the lending department and works with the PFO’s to ensure accuracy.  File and maintain each loan accurately by making sure that each one is properly documented, closed, disbursed, coordinated, and filed.
  3. Reviews all loan files where a loan has recently been disbursed by checking for all necessary paper work, signatures, notices, and computer information such as interest rates, loan type, collateral, payment, etc.
  4. Follows up/file on lien registrations, insurance papers on collateralized loans working with insurance placements and working with members to correct any issues.
  5. Helps with collection activities when needed and file maintenance for collections.
  6. Purges loan files by destroying out-of-date or unnecessary loan documents after checking the record retention requirements.
  7. Follow through on paid-loan files ensure members receive paid off statements and any documents such as titles, paid statements etc.  
  8. Answers member phone inquiries regarding loan balances, payoffs, vehicle values (NADA/Blue Book), lien releases.
  9. Maintains lending department files including new loans, refi-loans.
  10. Assists members and other staff with questions regarding lending services.
  11. Performs other lending duties as needed or directed.
  12. Responds to member requests, concerns, or problems in a timely manner and/or direct them to the proper person for specific information and assistance.
  13. Sets up new account file, providing member with all necessary disclosures and information regarding the new.
  14. Assists members with, but not limited to, balancing accounts, payroll deductions, and direct deposit requests also could mean minor teller duties on certain days.
  15. Balances payrolls; also make changes and deletions to member payroll both bi-weekly, and monthly. Process weekly/monthly payroll processes.
  16. Performs other related duties as assigned by the management.
  17. Keep current with NCUA regulations and the Federal Reserve System.

Additional Duties - Cross Train / Learn

  • Learn debt ratio calculations, income verifications.
  • Other lending items as directed or needed.
  • Learn consumer and real estate loan policies, credit granting criteria, interest rates, and required documentation for each type of loan.
    • Become PFO Loan Office eventually for future needs or act as back-up when needed.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalency, with at least two (2) to four (4) years’ experience in member services including cash handling in either a financial or retail location.
  • Professional, out-going, well developed interpersonal skills to project a very positive caring image for the Credit Union including telephone and computer.
  • Knowledge and skills of Credit Union philosophy, products, and services along with math, computer, and other office machines needed.
  • Bi-lingual with Spanish being a major second language, this is not required but would be a great benefit in this position.

Member Service Representative

LECU is seeking several full-time and part-time team members in a growing credit union environment. As an MSR, you will work to establish and build relationships with our members by assisting them with the products and services our credit union has to offer. Work hours are Monday through Friday - 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with no Saturdays for both of these positions.

Responsibilities

  • Perform member transactions including deposits, withdrawals, transfers, and check cashing.
  • Assist members face to face, over the phone and by email.
  • Carry out account maintenance and various projects related to member service.
  • Cross-train in different areas as needed by the credit union

Qualifications

  • Cash handling and customer service experience preferred
  • Team player with strong interpersonal and organization skills
  • Ability to self-motivate, work independently follow direction
  • Ability to cross-sell other credit union products and services
  • Word and Excel computer skills a plus
  • Bilingual a plus
  • Phone skills a plus
